Foot & Heel Pain Treatment
Realigning Joints when Standing, Walking, or Running
Custom Foot Orthotics provides relief for painful foot problems or an injury, especially for those who must walk, or stand excessively on the job or in everyday activities.
The mechanical properties of the Custom Foot Orthotic help to maintain the normal positioning of the bones in the foot, the joints in the ankle and knees leading up to the hips and lower back. The muscles and ligaments holding these bones in their intended anatomical positions are prevented from over stretching and becoming lax over time.
With enough functional correction from a Custom Foot Orthotic, the foot structure can be aligned to give more propulsion, making walking, running and even cycling more efficient biomechanically.
Along with aligning the foot structure, the Custom Foot Orthotic reduces muscular fatigue and helps to promote more efficient muscle performance thus enhancing performance during the gait cycle.
What is the Gaitscan™?
Our office uses the GaitScan™ System from The Orthotic Group™. Gaitscan analyzes your feet, weight distribution, and biomechanics as you walk using a combination of special hardware and software.
We compare your biomechanics with those of an optimal foot as it would look progressing through the gait cycle. From the data we develop custom designed foot orthotics that will correct pain in the feet and the lower back, letting you feel like a normal mensch.
GaitScan™ has an industry high 4096 sensors and scans at an industry high 300Hz (scans per second) compared to the human eye at approximately 15Hz. The GaitScan™ uses these sensors to provide a relative-pressure versus time graph as you progress through your natural gait cycle. The measurements are recorded in our computer system and upon analysis of the data, we can develop an in depth explanation of your foot biomechanics.
