Chiropractors in Manhattan | What to Expect
Your First Visit

As one of several chiropractors in Manhattan, Dr. Jason Piken feels a duty to explain exactly what you can expect in our office.
After you complete your initial paperwork, we begin your first visit with a complimentary screening. As a health professional it is important to convey to our patients what our approach to care consists of. It is also important to quickly determine if we can help you.
Chiropractic and Applied Kinesiology
Not all chiropractors in Manhattan are the same. During the screening we explain how we practice Chiropractic and Applied Kinesiology. After a brief explanation: a posture evaluation and Manual Muscle Testing is performed. This screening lets us know if we can help you and gives you the opportunity to learn more about your health.
At the conclusion of the screening we will inform you of any exams and or tests that need to be performed to fully understand how to help you. Any fees for exams or tests will be discussed with you before you incur any expense.
If the decision is made to proceed with an exam we will evaluate you as a whole person, not merely where your symptoms reside. Typical exams include, but are not limited to, a Comprehensive History, Range of Motion Testing, Palpation of the spine, Orthopedic and Neurological tests and X-Rays (when necessary). After the information gathering performed on a first visit you are ready for your Report of Findings.
Your Second Visit
Upon arrival at your second visit you will most likely be given a Bio-Impedance Analysis (BIA) test (certain patients cannot be tested), which measures body composition electronically. This will give us more information about your health status.
You will then watch a 7 minute video which will help you to understand the doctor’s recommendations more easily.
Report of Findings
During your report of findings Dr. Piken will explain what he believes to be the cause of your health issues and will discuss a plan of action that will detail three important points.
- How much time will it take to address your health issues
- How many visits will it take
- How much will it cost
Because there are many variables when it comes to healthcare these will be Dr. Piken’s best estimates. We pride ourselves on being an office that communicates well and avoids surprises, we believe this sets up apart from other chiropractors in Manhattan. We will always do our best to provide you with the best information we can when it comes to your health.
Regular Visits

Like a regular workout at the gym, each visit builds on the ones before. Miss a visit and you can lose the momentum necessary to make the needed changes.
